we can treat your dental emergencies

Even those of us fully dedicated to our oral health are not immune to dental emergencies. There’s simply no guarantee you can completely avoid chipped, cracked, or broken teeth – or that debilitating dental pain.

Your Pinecrest dental office provides aggressive preventative care to lower your risk of dental problems, but we also can treat your emergencies in a timely fashion.

Dental emergencies range from broken teeth, broken jaws, and even dislodged teeth. At Greenstein Dental, we can provide emergency root canals for patients with abscessed teeth, and we’ll work diligently to fit you in the same day as your dental emergency.

dislodged teeth

A dislodged tooth can be saved, but it requires immediate medical attention. The important thing is to keep the tooth moist until you can visit our office. When you find the tooth, wash it off with water – never use soap – and place it back in the socket, under your tongue, or even in a glass of milk. Avoid handling the tooth by its root. By placing the tooth back in your mouth, you’re keeping the tooth in its natural environment and increasing your chance of saving the tooth.

If the tooth can be saved, it’s likely you’ll need a root canal to help restore function. If the tooth cannot be saved, Dr. Greenstein can place a dental implant and dental crown that function and look like your natural teeth.

relieve your dental pain

Tooth pain can be absolutely excruciating. If you’re suffering from dental pain, we’ll complete safe digital X-rays and examine your oral cavity to determine the cause. Your teeth can hurt for a number of reasons: an abscess or infected root, deep cavity, tooth trauma, or even TMJ-related issues.

Dr. Greenstein has the training to treat all of these problems. He can provide root canal treatment to stop an infection and then place a restoration the same-day using the CEREC technology. If you need further evaluation, or if your bite or jaw is the source of your pain, Dr. Greenstein can complete a thorough examination of your TMJ using state-of-the-art diagnostic technology.

fix chipped or broken teeth

While broken or chipped teeth do not always hurt, we consider this type of trauma a dental emergency. Broken or chipped teeth weaken the tooth and put it at a higher risk of breakage, infection, or even a total loss.

Our office can restore your cracked, chipped, or broken teeth using crowns or porcelain veneers. Veneers are often seen as strictly a cosmetic issue, but the restorations strengthen broken or chipped teeth, bringing the function and beauty back to your smile. Crowns work in the same capacity. We can place a dental crown on any of your teeth. Using a shade chart, we blend the crown in with your natural teeth and give you a restoration that will last years!

If you need a dentist who can treat your family and provide gentle emergency dental care, call our office today at 305-251-5558 or use our contact page to schedule an appointment.
