Maintain Oral Health With Sedation Dentistry
Relaxation and the dentistry rarely go hand-in-hand, but our Miami dental staff does not see why we cannot change that around! At Greenstein Dental, we pride ourselves on our ability to work with patients of all ages, demographics, and dental needs with Sedation Options.
For millions of Americans, dental anxiety has kept them from seeing a dentist for years. In fact, about 5 percent of Americans avoid the dentist at all costs. It’s true that dental care is a part of healthy life, and the last thing we want is for our patients to be frozen with fear or dread walking into our office.
At Greenstein Dental, we view dental anxiety as a serious medical issue – and one that can treated by oral health care professionals with specific training and education. That’s why we offer oral conscious sedation for our fearful patients or for those patients who need multiple dental treatments completed at once. Oral conscious sedation allows you to relax during your visits, so you can receive the care you need without feeling terrifying or scared.
Dr. Greenstein has surrounded himself with dedicated professionals who understand that dentistry can be frightening for patients. We understand walking into a dental office – or getting a filling – is not the first thing on anybody’s to-do list. We’ll work to make you feel comfortable from the moment you walk in the door, and Dr. Greenstein has spent more than 25 years learning and fine-tuning his gentle technique. You’ll also never have to worry about our staff lecturing you about the condition of your mouth. In fact, that’s one of our pet peeves. As oral health professionals, we hope to guide you to a better, healthier smile, not make you feel bad about yourself. We want you to be bursting with confidence after visiting our office.
Benefits of Sedation Dentistry
Oral conscious sedation changes the way we treat our patients. Not only does it knock down the fear barrier, but you can complete multiple procedures during the same visit, treat your gag reflex, and treat your inability to get numb from injections.
We prescribe oral conscious sedation in pill-form and ask that patients have a friend or family member drive them to our office the day of their procedure. Once you reach the dental chair, you’ll be in a state of total relaxation. Your nerves will be gone, and your muscles will be relaxed. Some patients are so comfortable that they actually fall asleep during treatment or have trouble remembering the visit entirely.
Dr. Greenstein closely monitors patients who are under oral conscious sedation and follows up with patients after procedures.
At Greenstein Dental, we view dental anxiety as a hurdle to keeping your mouth healthy and functioning properly for years to come. Oral sedation dentistry helps our patients see the true value of good oral health. In fact, some of our sedation patients grow so comfortable and trusting in our services that they no longer need the sedation option after a few visits.
