Correct Crooked Teeth With Braces, Invisalign
Our Miami dental office’s orthodontic treatment can align your teeth, improve your bite, and enhance the look and function of your mouth. Crooked teeth can make patients self-conscious to the point that they try to hide their smile. Our office can give you a beautiful smile that you’ll be eager to show off.
Dr. Greenstein is not just interested in fixing your bite issues and correcting crooked teeth. Using gneuromuscular dentistry, he assesses your entire mouth and oral cavity to find the most appropriate bite that synchronizes your jaw joint, nerves, and muscles. When the muscles, nerves, and joints are not in sync, patients often have signs of TMD (temporomandibular disorder). TMD can give patients constant headaches, neck pain, and jaw pains.
Dr. Greenstein uses orthodontics as a solution to TMD. Orthodontics can also help patients with sleep apnea, gum disease, muscle tension, migraines or tension headaches, and jaw pain, as well as fix underbites, overbites, crossbites, gaps in teeth, crowded teeth, and impacted teeth.
Align Your Smile With Braces
Braces are the most accurate and reliable way to fix bite issues and crooked teeth. We treat orthodontic issues with braces for both children and adults. Don’t think that braces are simply for kids – about half of our patients in braces are adults and much of our staff has undergone Dr. Greenstein’s orthodontic treatment.
We offer several different types of orthodontics, including traditional orthodontics, dentofacial orthopedics, self-ligating brackets, and tooth-colored braces. Traditional braces use metal brackets and wires to realign your teeth. Traditional braces are often used for children – we even have colorful rubber bands. For his younger patients, Dr. Greenstein uses his training in orthodontics and dentofacial orthopedics to fix the teeth while also studying the growth of the facial structure.
Many of our adult patients choose our self-ligating brackets (Innovation-C or Innovation-R). This technology gives you a shorter treatment time and eliminates the need for dental visits every four weeks.
Using gneuromuscular concepts to achieve a comfortable and predictable bite is part of how Greenstein Dental helps you achieve a healthy, long-lasting smile for years to come.
Straighten Teeth Without Metal Wires, Brackets
My feeling about getting straight teeth is that cosmetics, that’s a fada complete, that’s happening anyway, it’s an automatic. The real question is, can we line up the teeth where your muscles and your joints are most comfortable, where they are relaxed, they aren’t compressed, they aren’t stretched. That clicking that is going on in your joint, that shouldn’t be there. So there is something going on and if I can get to the root of the problem and help find out where is the position that this movable lower jaw wants to sit in, where your muscles are comfortable, where your joints are situated in the socket where they should be, where the little discs or pillow or meniscus is where it should be functioning. Now I’ve found the bullseye on the target. Once I can do that, and it’s not complicated to help you get done, then I can go ahead and start lining teeth up and move them into the right position. It helps people with their airway. So much is going on in dentistry today talking about snoring and sleep apnea. There are a number of patients who can’t tolerate a CPAP machine but it is really interesting to find out that if you can help that patient, find out where the jaw wants to function, if you can then enhance the size of the jaw or reposition the teeth because they are crowded or the tongue space is crowded, if you start to do those things, the airway suddenly opens up and you are finding that you can sleep a little better at night. You are finding that you have a heck of a lot more energy during the day. You are finding that life is starting to improve quite a bit from something as simple as effectively moving teeth with braces but finding out where that jaw needs to function first.
The cosmetic alternative to conventional braces, Invisalign is the clear choice to straighten teeth for adults and teens. Instead of showing brackets and wires when you smile, a series of clear, plastic aligners are worn over your upper and lower teeth. The beauty of this system lies in both comfort and looks – they feel smooth to your lips, are removable when eating or brushing, and appear as though you’re not wearing anything at all over your teeth!
Aligners are delivered in sequence and are worn for about two weeks each. You will receive three to four trays per visit, saving you time away from work or family.
Using 3D CAD/CAM technology, we will show you how your teeth predictably move into place, providing you the opportunity to see what you’ll look like when treatment is done. When therapy is completed, clear retainers are worn to secure the new tooth position and maintain a long-lasting, beautiful smile. Treatments are extremely predictable and more often take less time than conventional orthodontics.
